About Isaque

Isaque is a partner in the Tax practice and has more than 20 years' experience.

He focuses on providing tax and legal advice in Portugal and Africa to both Portuguese and international private clients, as well as public sector entities.

Isaque has played an active role in M&A transactions, the structuring of domestic and international investments, tax due diligence exercises and tax litigation.

He holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and completed postgraduate courses in commercial law at Católica Lisbon School of Law and in the international taxation of companies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He also completed the curricular component of the master's degree in tax law and of the professional master's degree in financial law, both at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Isaque is an arbitrator at the Administrative Arbitration Centre (CAAD) and collaborates with the Institute of Financial and Tax Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Before joining PLMJ, Isaque was a Tax and Legal Specialist at McKinsey International, an assistant to the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs in the 19th Constitutional Government, and a consultant at EY and KPMG.

In 2020, Isaque won Iberian Lawyer's Forty under 40 – Lawyer of the Year award in the Tax category. The award is presented by Iberian Lawyer magazine.
