PLMJ advises Verdane on the sale of its stake in Cleanwatts

The transaction was led by Duarte Schmidt Lino, a partner and co-head of the Corporate M&A team.

PLMJ advised the European private equity firm Verdane on the divestment of Cleanwatts, a leading technology group specialising in the development of renewable energy communities in Portugal, through the sale of its entire stake to an infrastructure fund managed by DWS, one of the world's largest asset managers.

The transaction provides for DWS to invest around €150 million by 2030 to accelerate the development of energy communities in Portugal.

The PLMJ team was led by Duarte Schmidt Lino, partner and co-head of Corporate M&A, and coordinated by Nuno Serrão Faria (Corporate M&A). The team also included Luís Miguel Vasconcelos (Banking and Finance and Capital Markets), João Rodrigues Duarte (Tax), André da Gama Loureiro (Banking and Finance and Capital Markets), Isabel Côrte-Real (Corporate M&A) and Madalena Doutel (Corporate M&A).
