About Tiago

Tiago is an associate in the Health, Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals practice and has more than 5 years of experience. He focuses on advising Portuguese and multinational companies on a wide range of issues related to the pharmaceutical industry, pharmacies and healthcare providers, including medicines, medical devices, cosmetic products and food supplements.

He deals with matters such as healthcare, environmental and industrial licensing and compliance. He also advises on supply, co-development and licensing contracts for various pharmaceutical products. His multidisciplinary background in biomedical sciences and law allows him to provide integrated legal advice combining scientific expertise with regulatory knowledge.

Tiago holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Summa cum Laude) from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. He also attended a postgraduate course in Pharmacy, Medicines and New Technologies Law at the Centre for Biomedical Law of the University of Coimbra and completed the postgraduate course on Health and Safety Management Systems at SGS Portugal.

Before joining the legal profession, Tiago had a career in biomedical research, having worked as a senior scientist at Medipolis GMP Oy in Finland and as a post-doctoral researcher at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência. He subsequently served as Head of the Biosafety Unit at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência.
