PLMJ advised the US asset management firm, Davidson Kempner, and the Portuguese private equity firm, ECS Capital, on the formation of a joint venture with Magna Industrial. Magna Industrial is a property developer and construction firm specialising in logistics, industrial and infrastructure assets in the Iberian region.
PLMJ’s legal advice was jointly led by the Property and Tourism team, headed by partner Ricardo Reigada Pereira, with the support of lawyers Diogo Neves, Tamara Martins da Fonseca and Felipe Cunha, from the same team. The transaction also involved a multidisciplinary team which included the Planning and Land Use practice, coordinated by Andreia Candeias Mousinho, the head partner, with the support of the lawyers Benedita Lacerda and Ana Nunes da Silva, from the same team. The Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice completed the team and was led by partner André Figueiredo, with the support of the lawyers Luís Miguel Vasconcelos, João Terrinha and António Delgado da Cruz, from the same practice.
The new platform aims to invest in modern logistics and industrial assets located across the Iberian Peninsula. It will capitalise on the opportunities created by the restructuring of supply chains and the resulting adoption of nearshoring strategies by the logistics sector.
