PLMJ lawyers write guide on Technology M&A

Lawyers Duarte Schmidt Lino, partner and co-head of the Corporate M&A practice, Raquel Azevedo, partner in the Banking and Finance and Capital Markets practices, Alexander Ehlert, senior counsel in the Corporate M&A practice, and Leonor Melo Bento, associate in the same area, wrote the chapter "Portugal Law and Practice" for the 4th edition of Chambers' Technology M&A.

This guide analyses the main challenges that the industry has faced in recent years. Highlights include the technology M&A sector, which continues to be a priority for many investors and companies, as well as artificial intelligence (AI), which has also proved to be a dominant theme and currently a powerful commercial asset for various sectors.

In Portugal, as in the rest of the world, the Portuguese M&A market was also affected throughout 2024 by the slow decline in inflation, interest rates and the consequent high cost of capital.
