Partner and head of the Intellectual Property practice.
About Hugo
Hugo is a partner and head of the Intellectual Property practice and has more than 15 years' experience. He advises on patents, trademarks, designs, copyright, software licensing, information technology, data protection and advertising.
He focuses on intellectual property litigation, with a particular emphasis on arbitration and court proceedings involving industrial property rights, especially those relating to pharmaceuticals and trademarks. He also advises on and drafts opinions and contracts in the field of intellectual property.
Hugo has been an Official Industrial Property Agent since 2012 and a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney since 2016.
He holds a master's degree in private law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and completed a postgraduate course in arbitration at NOVA School of Law.
Hugo is a frequent speaker at universities and at Portuguese and international congresses and seminars.
Before joining PLMJ, he was a lawyer at BMA, ABBC and CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut.
