PLMJ advises MDS on the acquisition of Seguramos

The transaction was led by Filipe Avides Moreira, a Corporate M&A partner.

PLMJ advised MDS on the acquisition of a 50.1% stake in Seguramos, one of the ten largest national insurance brokers by turnover.

This is the largest insurance brokerage transaction ever in Portugal, reinforcing MDS's position as a leader in insurance distribution.

Following this transaction, MDS Portugal will manage a premium volume of around EUR 600 million and generate revenue of approximately EUR 95 million in Portugal. Integrating Seguramos will enable MDS to double its network of agents to around 1,000 and expand its network of offices to 49, thereby increasing its presence in key regions.

PLMJ advised on all aspects of the negotiation and structuring of the transaction, as well as on the notification process to the Competition Authority and the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority.
