About José João

José João is a senior associate in the Employment and Labour practice who has seven years' professional experience. He advises Portuguese and international clients on the full spectrum of employment, labour and social security issues, and his work includes advice on restructuring processes, business transfers, due diligence, redundancies, collective bargaining, strikes, benefit plans and pension funds, disciplinary proceedings and employment litigation.

José João has advised clients from various sectors including banking, insurance, health, tourism, services, transport and retail.

With a master's degree in employment law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, José João is a member of the Portuguese Employment Law Association and of CIELO - Community for employment and occupational research and studies.

Before joining PLMJ, he was a lawyer at Linklaters' office in Lisbon and at SRS Advogados.
